MEMBERSHIP OF THE SOCIETY

 

The membership of the Society is open to any person (who has attained the age of maturity) and or any institutions which fulfills the terms and conditions of the Society but subject to the approval of the Governing Body of the Society.

Note: If the Governing Body of the Society does not approve the membership.the reason for refusal shall be communicated to the person/applicant concerned.

a. Primary members: Includes institutional members and individual members. Gov!. of Kerala, Central SF AC and all institutions desirous of participating in the affairs and business of the Society can become primary members of the Society. Any farmer/planter who is performing his activity in the area of operation of SF AC can be a member of the Society as primary member.

b. All the decisions shall be taken by majority votes. In case votes are equal the person who presides over the meeting shall have to execute a casting vote.

c. The prcsident or in his absence the Vice-President or in the absence of both any member of the Governing Body voted to the Chair shall preside over the meeting of the Governing Body.

d.The Governing body shall have the powers as are the powers of the Society, mentioned in the Memorandum of Association and in these Rules and Regulations. The Governing body shall have the fol1owing powers and duties:

i. to prepare plans, projects and progran'

ii. to admit members and terminat member.

iii. to approve the budget estimate and exercise control of the finance of the Society.

iv. to enforce the Rules and Bye-laws of the Society.

v. to appoint, suspend or remove the Chief Executives and staff of the Society of which the Governing Body is the appointing authority.

vi. to take all appropriate steps to carry out the objects of the Society as contained in the Memorandum of Association.

vii. to purchase or otherwise acquire property rights or privileges at such prices and under such terms and conditions as the Governing Body think fit.

viii. to invest or deal with the funds in such a manner as may be beneficial for the achievement of the objects contained in the Memorandum of Association

ix. to take disciplinary action against any of the member or members of the Society.

x. to enter in to contract with other [or the benefit ofthe Society.

xi.to borrow otherwise raise funds on behalf of and for the benefit of the Society.

xii. to represent the Society in any legal proceedings.
