Benefits
Economical
About 40,000 farm women will be benefited by increased per capita net income of Rs. 7.00 annually: This is a raise from the existing level of Rs. 608/- per year
Social
Materialisation of social uplift of about 40,000 farm women, whose principal source of livelihood lies in this activity, is expected. Poverty and unemployment problems are expected to solve to a very great extent. Successful implementation of the project will attract more and more farm women to get engaged in remunerative self employment activities like this.
Others
· Group activities in all levels would refine the characters and behaviours of rural women, under good leadership.
· Exposure of rural farm women into marketing will given chances for their bargaining power.
· Direct employment potential in all societies will help to check rural poverty.
· Besides social and economical dimensions, commercialisation of agriculture will get anchored in this sector.
· Economic utilization of waste land is enlightened by Pandanus cultivation in low lying water logged places.
· Value addition to farm products is another benefit.
· Raise in farm income, otherwise not possible, will be an added benefit to the small holders.
· Research and development will help to develop the activity over a period of time.
· By exploiting export potential, with modified forms or products this Agribusiness will attract foreign currency. .
· The producer-consumer gap will get minimized.
Risks
Practically no risks are there in the programme. An element of risk, which may appear in collective actions, can be avoided by knowledge intensive training in management.
